Read to the Rescue
Read to the Rescue: Family Story Nights with Rescue Horses
Join A.R.E. Ranch & Rescue on Thursday evenings for a peaceful family literacy experience where children can enjoy books alongside participating rescue horses. Children of all reading levels, including pre-readers, are welcome.
Each session includes an introduction to a featured rescue horse, snacks, rescue horse enrichment , family bonding, and youth literacy.
Designed to build reading confidence without pressure, encourage compassion for animals and create meaningful family memories, Read to the Rescue is a supervised, ground-based activity with no riding included.
Thursdays • 6:30–7:15 p.m. or 7:30 to 8:15 pm
Suggested Rescue-Care Donation: $5 per guest, $20 family maximum
Advance registration required; space is limited.
Children must remain with a supervising adult, and closed-toe shoes are required.
Families and community members are also welcome to support the program by donating new or gently used children’s books to our Rescue Reading Library. Every story shared helps create moments of connection, kindness and second chances for children and rescue horses alike.
